Putin and Erdoğan discussed Ukraine in phone
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine war and Turkey-Russia relations were discussed.

During the meeting, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the continuation of the positive momentum achieved in the Istanbul talks in order to open the road to peace is in the interest of everyone.
Pointing out the importance of a ceasefire, effective operation of humanitarian corridors and safe evacuations, President Erdoğan said that Turkey will continue to do its best to stop this trend that harms everyone and to establish a lasting peace.
President Erdoğan also reiterated his proposal to raise the Istanbul Process, which is a very important threshold in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, to the level of leaders.
In the written statement made by the Kremlin Press Service regarding the meeting, it was stated that the two leaders discussed the process in Mariupol. In the statement, "Regarding the issue that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan brought to the agenda regarding the situation in Mariupol, Putin noted that the city was liberated and there was no military operation there. Putin said that the Kyiv government should take political responsibility and order the forces trapped in the Azovstal factory facilities in Mariupol to lay down their arms. He said that prisoners of war are guaranteed life, medical care and treatment in accordance with international law standards."
The leaders agreed to maintain coordination between the defense ministries of the two countries to safely remove Turkish ships from ports in the Black Sea along the maritime humanitarian corridor organized by the Russian side. It was reported that Putin and Erdogan also discussed air traffic and tourism issues.
ERDOĞAN-ZELENSKIY MEETING
President Erdoğan announced that he will meet with Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy regarding the Ukraine-Russia war.
In this context, he had a telephone conversation with Zelensky on Sunday.
